- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the strawberries release their juices and the mixture starts to bubble.
- Simmer for about 10 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Puree the mixture in a blender or with an immersion blender until smooth.
- Strain the sauce through a fine-mesh sieve to remove seeds, if desired.
