- 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the strawberries, 1/2 cup of sugar, and lemon juice. Set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining sugar.
- Stir in the milk and melted butter until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
- Top the batter with the strawberry mixture.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for an extra treat!
- This recipe can also be made with other berries like blueberries or raspberries.
