Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 6 large eggs
- 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 can (12 ounces) evaporated milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a saucepan, melt the sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until it turns golden brown. Immediately pour the caramel into a round baking dish, tilting to coat the bottom.
- In a blender, combine the eggs, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth.
- Pour the custard mixture over the caramel in the baking dish.
- Place the baking dish in a larger baking pan and fill it with water to create a water bath.
- Bake for about 50-60 minutes or until the flan is set. Let it cool, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
- To serve, run a knife around the edges and invert onto a serving plate.
Notes
- Flan can be made a day in advance for better flavor.
- For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of salt or citrus zest.
