Description

These small batch sugar cookies are soft, chewy, and perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth without making too many!


Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract and egg yolk until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, flattening them slightly.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
