Description
A delicious twist on classic Sloppy Joes served in a bread bowl.
Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup diced onion
- 1 cup diced green bell pepper
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 4 large boule bread
- 1 cup shredded cheese
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned; drain excess fat.
- Add onions and bell peppers, cooking until softened.
- Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and chili powder; simmer for 10 minutes.
- Cut the tops off the boules and hollow out the insides.
- Fill the bread bowls with the sloppy joe mixture and top with cheese.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F until heated through and cheese is melted.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add diced jalapenos to the mixture.
- These can be made ahead and stored in the fridge until ready to bake.
- Serve with a side of pickles for extra flavor.
