- 1 loaf crusty bread, cut into cubes
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup Gruyere cheese, grated
- 1/4 cup chives, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Add the bread cubes to the egg mixture and stir to combine.
- Fold in the Gruyere cheese and chives.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and cover with foil.
- Refrigerate overnight.
- The next day, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove the foil and bake for 45-55 minutes, until the top is golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
