Description

A simple and delicious way to enjoy pickled cabbage as a side dish or topping.


Ingredients

  • 1 head green cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes


Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine vinegar, water, sugar, and salt. Heat over medium until sugar and salt dissolve.
  2. Add mustard seeds and red pepper flakes to the mixture.
  3. Pack the sliced cabbage into a clean jar.
  4. Pour the hot pickling liquid over the cabbage, ensuring it’s submerged.
  5. Let cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving.

Notes

  • This pickled cabbage can last for up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
  • Feel free to adjust the spice level by adding more or less red pepper flakes.
