- 1 head green cabbage, thinly sliced
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine vinegar, water, sugar, and salt. Heat over medium until sugar and salt dissolve.
- Add mustard seeds and red pepper flakes to the mixture.
- Pack the sliced cabbage into a clean jar.
- Pour the hot pickling liquid over the cabbage, ensuring it’s submerged.
- Let cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving.
Notes
- This pickled cabbage can last for up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
- Feel free to adjust the spice level by adding more or less red pepper flakes.
