These Mediterranean Ground Beef Pita Pockets are a delicious and quick meal, stuffed with flavorful ground beef and fresh toppings.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 whole wheat pita breads
  • 1 cup chopped lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup cucumber, diced
  • 1/4 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup tzatziki sauce


Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula.
  3. Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper; cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Warm pita breads in a separate pan or microwave.
  5. Stuff each pita with the cooked beef, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, and feta cheese.
  6. Drizzle with tzatziki sauce and serve immediately.
