  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and salt. Sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Add the flour and melted butter, then mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  6. In a large pot, bring 10 cups of water and the baking soda to a boil.
  7. Divide the dough into 8 pieces and roll each into a long rope, then shape into a pretzel.
