Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat together granulated sugar, brown sugar, and oil until combined.
- Add molasses and egg, and mix well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, combining thoroughly.
- Roll the dough into balls and coat in sugar.
- Place on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Allow to cool on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
- For chewier cookies, bake for a shorter time.
- These cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
