Ingredients

- 4 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
- Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for another minute.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, and oregano; simmer for 10 minutes.
- Create small wells in the sauce and crack an egg into each well.
- Cover and cook until eggs are set to your liking, about 5-7 minutes.
- Sprinkle with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
- Serve with crusty bread for dipping.
- Adjust the spice level by adding more or less red pepper flakes.
