Description

A delectable twist on traditional French dip sandwiches, these squares are sure to impress!


Ingredients

  • 1 pound roast beef, thinly sliced
  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the French bread in half lengthwise and place it on a baking sheet.
  3. Layer roast beef and provolone cheese evenly over the bread.
  4. In a saucepan, combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, onion powder, and black pepper; bring to a simmer.
  5. Poor half of the broth mixture over the meat and cheese.
  6. Top with the other half of the bread, then pour the remaining broth over the top.
  7. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let cool slightly, then slice and serve with a side of broth for dipping.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add sliced jalapeños or hot sauce.
  • Letting the squares sit for a few minutes before slicing allows the flavors to meld.
