- 1 pound roast beef, thinly sliced
- 1 loaf French bread
- 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Slice the French bread in half lengthwise and place it on a baking sheet.
- Layer roast beef and provolone cheese evenly over the bread.
- In a saucepan, combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, onion powder, and black pepper; bring to a simmer.
- Poor half of the broth mixture over the meat and cheese.
- Top with the other half of the bread, then pour the remaining broth over the top.
- Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let cool slightly, then slice and serve with a side of broth for dipping.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add sliced jalapeños or hot sauce.
- Letting the squares sit for a few minutes before slicing allows the flavors to meld.
