This decadent chocolate lava cake features a gooey molten center that is perfect for any chocolate lover.

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 large eggs
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with flour.
- Melt the butter and chocolate in a double boiler.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, egg yolks, and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Slightly cool the chocolate mixture and then add it to the egg mixture along with vanilla extract and salt.
- Gently fold in the flour until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared ramekins.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes or until the edges are firm but the center is soft.
- Let it cool for 1 minute before inverting onto a plate.
- Serve immediately with ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, add a tablespoon of espresso powder to the batter.
- Ensure the cakes are not overbaked to maintain the lava center.
