- 3 pounds chuck roast
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Season the chuck roast with the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- In a large cast iron skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat.
- Brown the roast on all sides in the melted butter.
- Add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet.
- Cover the skillet and transfer it to the preheated oven.
- Cook for 3 to 4 hours or until the roast is tender.
- Remove the roast and let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
- Garnish with parsley and serve.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider searing the roast in a bit of olive oil before adding butter.
- This dish pairs well with mashed potatoes or a fresh salad.
