Description

A delicious and sweet dish featuring chicken glazed with brown sugar and pineapple.


Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 can pineapple chunks


Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, pineapple juice, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a boil.
  2. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water. Stir into the sauce until thickened.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chicken and cook until browned.
  4. Pour the sauce over the chicken. Add pineapple chunks.
  5. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.
  6. Serve over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • This recipe can easily be doubled for larger servings.
  • Serve with steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
