Description

Enjoy a delicious combination of sweet and tart with this Apple Cranberry Chutney served on crispy crostini.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup diced apples
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 baguette sliced for crostini


Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine cranberries, diced apples, sugar, chopped onions, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, ginger, and salt.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes until thickened.
  3. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Brush baguette slices with olive oil and place on a baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Serve the chutney warm on crostini.

Notes

  • This chutney can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • Great as a topping for cheeses as well!
