Achari Aloo is a spicy and tangy potato dish made with pickling spices, perfect as a side dish.

- 500 grams potatoes, boiled and peeled
- 2 tablespoons mustard oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
- 1 teaspoon nigella seeds
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon mango powder
- 1 teaspoon salt (to taste)
- 2 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves
Instructions
- Heat mustard oil in a pan until it starts to smoke.
- Add cumin, fennel, and nigella seeds. Let them splutter.
- Then add turmeric, red chili powder, and salt, and sauté for a minute.
- Add the boiled potatoes and mango powder; mix well to coat the potatoes with spices.
- Cook for 5-7 minutes on low heat, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can add a bit of garlic and ginger paste.
- Adjust the spice levels according to your preference.
